Jazzy Jaunt

It’s TLA’s newest bi-annual event! Jazzy Jaunt is a boat parade to have fun while helping to raise additional funds to help keep Tomahawk Lake the outstanding resource water for years to come.
This year’s parade theme is “SUNFLOWERS”. Sunflower Bay was named for Ella Woodzika’s sunflowers, first planted in 1890. Ella and her husband, Roman (namesake of Roman’s Point), began taking in lodgers at the Sun Flower Cottage Resort in 1895. Their son, Fabian, established a boat workshop on the family property and then built a large factory in 1924. The Sunflower Boat Works was born where humble rowboats to the fine, speedy, mahogany launch, “the Sunflower Craft”, were built. Sunflower Bay is on the Lake Tomahawk southeast side of the lake just around Roman’s Point before you enter Little Lake Tomahawk. (See Map.)

Let us gather in Sunflower Bay at 2:40 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021 for our excursion from 3:00-4:30 pm, with our decorated boats in sunflower colors and tour our neighbors from the entrance to Little Lake Tomahawk in Sunflower Bay past the Lake Tomahawk boat landing and along the north shoreline to Kemp Woods to view their decorated yard, deck, and/or dock. Bring your own beverages and snacks to enjoy as we support TLA together. You will receive a route map with approximate arrival times at different points around the lake to help spectators know when to wave to us.

The minimum registration fee is $50 for boat and shore participants and includes a Tomahawk Lake Association, Tomahawk Lake Proud Sherpa-Fleece blanket. Other levels of donations are included on the registration form as well. Even if you cannot participate, donations are welcome and you will also receive a fleece blanket if you register by Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Rain Date: In case of inclement weather, the Jazzy Jaunt will be held on Sunday, August 8, from 12:00-1:30 pm, meeting in Sunflower Bay at 11:40 am. Keep an eye on the TLA Facebook page for updates.
